Comprehensive Personalized
Treatment of OCD
The Center for Cognitive-Behavioral Psychotherapy offers intensive outpatient treatment for individuals struggling with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) who require a higher level of care than once a week therapy, but less than being admitted to an inpatient facility.
This program is designed for individuals with more severe symptoms or those who require a short-term treatment effect. When left untreated OCD symptoms can make it incredibly difficult to function at work or school. Sometimes people are at risk of losing their jobs, their relationships, or being kicked out of school due to their OCD. This program allows patients to fit an intense amount of therapy into a short time frame so that they can start to see therapeutic results quickly.
An intensive outpatient program consists of between 3 to 5 sessions per week for an average of 2 weeks, depending on the needs of the patient. After some brief psycho-education about how OCD is treated, sessions will then focus on engaging in exposure and response prevention (ERP), along with developing skills for handling anxiety and intrusive thoughts in day to day life. All IOP cases are overseen by Dr. Phillipson, and conducted by our treatment team of licensed psychologists and pre-doctoral psychology fellows.
